Representatives from Scania’s quality and supplier organisation recently visited EWES in Dongguan for a two-day audit. The purpose was to evaluate the company’s processes and capabilities as part of Scania’s work with potential suppliers in China.

The visit has an interesting connection to Sweden. EWES and Scania have worked together for many years, with EWES supplying spring solutions to Scania’s Swedish operations. As Scania continues to develop its industrial operations and local supplier network in China, the established relationship provides a valuable foundation for further dialogue.

Quality throughout the process
During the audit, EWES had the opportunity to demonstrate its processes, quality work and approach to taking projects from prototype to series production.
One area highlighted positively was EWES’ structured APQP work and documentation throughout the process from prototype to mass production.
The audit also identified areas for further improvement. These will now be addressed by the team in Dongguan as part of the continued qualification process.

The same EWES – wherever we are
For EWES, the visit is about more than one audit. It demonstrates the importance of combining local manufacturing and expertise with the experience, quality mindset and long-term relationships built within the EWES Group.

The next step is to continue the improvement work and prepare for further evaluation.
And while Bredaryd and Dongguan may be thousands of kilometres apart, our approach remains the same: working together to continuously improve and deliver reliable spring solutions.
