3 VDA Process Auditor 2025 EWES Webb (1)

EWES Quality Manager certified as VDA 6.3 Process Auditor

As the demands of the automotive industry continue to increase, staying ahead becomes essential. For EWES, a long-standing supplier of safety critical components, this makes the certification of our Quality Manager Karin Andersson an important milestone. Becoming a certified VDA 6.3 Process Auditor not only strengthens customer confidence but also opens the door to an even more structured and future proof approach to quality.

VDA 6.3 is an established method for reviewing and understanding how processes function from a holistic perspective. It covers the entire chain from the initial request for quotation to customer satisfaction and ensures that every step is connected. The requirement for this certification comes directly from major automotive customers.

For Karin, the training has also offered a new way of viewing both day to day work and internal audits.
“It gives me better insight into how to ensure that every part of a process functions in a structured and reliable way, from the initial enquiry to final customer satisfaction.”

VDA strengthens quality work

A deeper understanding of the VDA method makes it easier to interpret the audits that EWES undergoes as a supplier. Several of our customers use the same standard, and the certification gives Karin a clearer view of what is needed to achieve the highest rating and what may lead to a lower evaluation.

The certification also supports long term quality development within EWES. Risk analysis is a recurring element of the method and traceability is an essential component, especially when springs are used in safety critical applications. Sustainability is not mentioned explicitly but questions related to robust processes and efficient resource use appear naturally.

“A few seeds have been planted in my mind and I hope and believe they will continue to grow.”

A tool for more reliable deliveries

When Karin summarises what VDA represents, she describes it as a method that creates confidence. It helps EWES, as well as our suppliers, maintain consistently high standards with secure, stable processes throughout the entire production chain.

“It is simply a method that ensures our suppliers and our own operations remain safe and reliable, and that our products function without disruption.”

For this reason the certification becomes more than a customer requirement. It becomes an important tool in EWES ongoing work to deliver dependable products and stable processes to customers in the automotive sector and in other industries where quality and safety are essential.
