Isak Bengtsson, Financial Manager at EWES

Meet Isak Bengtsson, with a head for numbers and strong local roots

With his roots in Ås, a small village outside Bredaryd, and a strong drive to contribute to the development of the local area, Isak Bengtsson joined EWES in January 2025. What began as a role as Business Controller has since developed into the position of Finance Manager.

We sat down with Isak to get to know him a little better.

What is your role at EWES?
I joined EWES in January 2025 as a Business Controller and now serve as Finance Manager.

Why did you apply for the position?
My family and I had already bought and started renovating a house in Ås, about ten kilometres outside Bredaryd. With the move from Växjö approaching, I was looking for a new job.

I wanted a new challenge connected to the strong industrial and entrepreneurial spirit of this area. I had previously heard many positive things about EWES from people close to me, and when the role came up, it sounded interesting – so I applied.

What did you do before joining EWES?
I worked as a Business Controller at Abena in Växjö. The company supplies consumables to everything from healthcare services to hotels and restaurants, so it was a completely different industry.

Before that, I studied for a Master of Science in Business and Economics at Linnaeus University. Originally, I am from Ås, and prior to my studies I worked in sales.

How were you welcomed?
Very well. There was a clear plan in place to integrate me into the business as quickly as possible, and that process started on day one. I found that very professional.

Beyond that, it is not difficult to become part of the team at EWES – especially if you have an interest in football and do not mind raising a glass with good friends.

How old are you and where do you live?
I am 32 years old and live in Ås.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Ideally with a football somewhere in the picture.

What is hard for you to resist?
If carbonated hop beverages and Marabou Mintkrokant ever disappear from the shelves, I honestly do not know what I would do 🤣.

If you did not have to work for money, what would you do in life?
I would spend even more time with the people I value most, creating lifelong memories together. At the same time, I think I would still choose to work – because who do you become without a sense of purpose and belonging?

When did you last laugh out loud?
Last night, when my two-year-old quote machine at home delivered another perfectly timed comment.
